NATURE

                Marium Nasrin

Mellow rays of sun, slowly melting the sparkling white blanket and making way for the harmonic flow of water, touching the pebbles, patting the fishes and smiling to the meadows nearby. Evergreens dancing rhythmically to the caressing breeze; blowing carefree through the woodland. Unworried beasts residing in the forest, running and playing, grazing and hunting. Refreshing tweets of birds, flying freely through the air. Aquatic beings dwelling in the peaceful oceans. Fishes, seaweeds, corals and sapphires, each hiding in the oceanic mysteries within.

How beautiful nature is! How lucky we are to have this charming enchantress showering her delightful blessing upon us! Nature being the nesting ground of each and every organism is herself a blessing. There is nothing in this known world that can be said identical to her. Everything from the food we eat, to the air we breathe and the water we drink, to the place we reside is granted by her.

But humans, being the one who considers themselves superior to everything, are purposefully ignoring that their sustainability on the earth entirely depends on the availability of natural resources. These fools with brain is trying to conquer the nature for his own greed; oozing out the resources till the very drop of it, by denying the fact that the other living organisms are equally privileged to make use of it. “The world has enough for man’s need but not enough for man’s greed!” –Mahatma Gandhi

These fruitful words of the father of our nation should not be forgotten. It should resonate in one's mind when he tries to exploit anything from nature.

Always remember the fact that, we are the ones who need nature for our existence; not vice versa. We are nothing without her, even we can’t merely exist without her. So, be grateful.

Study Nature, love Nature, Stay close to Nature. It will never fail you.” – Frank Lloyd Wright

  1. Reading your piece made me think of Chief Seatle, the iconic red Indian leader who made the Whites understand the true value of nature. "Man does not weave this web of life. He is merely a strand of it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."
